I'm still in the Sandbox for a few more months. Everything has gone pretty smooth so far, with the exception
of a few egos causing some friction but 4 months in this hot dusty $***hole that is too be expected.

When will I be home next you ask? The only for sure answer I can give anybody is February. I may be home
breifly before that or I might not, only time will tell for sure.

When I get back home I plan completely redesigning the website completely from scratch I promise it will
redefine you as a person and bring a tear to your eye. And that's a fact. Period.

I also plan on starting to write more rants. With a strong political type themes. So stay on the look out
for those.

Today we took a tour of the base. We stopped at all the areas the bn will own, it suprised me at the fact that the
facilities here are almost better than what we have at K-bay. Or was I suprised?
Then later in the day we stopped and talked to our counterparts that we'll be replacing. They seem like decent folk,
I don't forsee any major issues in turnover.

I played a game of Moo2. I got beat like a vasoline covered billy goat. I don't know what a vasoline covered billy
goat is, but it gave me the idea to put poncho liners around my rack. On second thought, maybe it wasn't the VCBG
that gave me the idea but the fear that aliens where going attack and soundly defeat me. So I think poncho liner is
a mental representation of protection... that which i didn't have during the game of Moo2 of which I was oh so easily defeated, much
like a vasoline covered billy goat.

Of course i do have an M16 with 30 rounds strapped to the butt stock for protection.

But that is of course beside the point.

Well I just though I would throw a quick update up for everyone. I got promoted to Corporal in April so I have
that going for me. Other than that not much going on here.

Walking out of the barber shop today I saw 3 Marines with freshly shaved heads. It reminded me of a time back when
Caleb, Nick and I were living in the Richfield house. I think it was a Sunday morning and I wake up to the sound of
my two roommates talking loudly and the sound of a head clippers. I get up to see two bald roommates and Nick
slapping himself in the back of the head saying "Just like a monkey before he's shot into space!" Oh course, I
too shaved my head. Every one else was doing it.

Well its been along time no type but I'm back! I'm hopefully going to revamp the sight abit in the next few weeks, but we'll see if I
can pull myself away from World of Warcraft long enough to get that accomplished. I do at least hope to get the rest of my Indonesian

Well i sorta made good on the guarantee that I would update the site. I haven't gotten around to adding all the pictures from
Indonesia and the surrounding area. I did however make a nifty new bulletin board which will probably make me updating here obsolete
due to fact that its way easier and I can update where ever there might be an interenet connection. So I'm still thinking of a way to

Yeah I know its been a very long time since I've updated, but i've been very busy. I was on the USS Essex and the USS Fort McHenry
in support of Operation United Assistance.I have pictures in a pdf format, but its big (around 6 or 8 mb, i can't remember which and
i'm too lazy to look it up) so unless you have broadband you may want to way for me to get enough ambition to put them up individually.
Hopefully that will be tommorrow, but I make no promises only guarantees. I also hope to add some other content, but the
pictures are more of a priority. I plan on adding pictures that I haven't yet taken of Camp Hanson here on Okinawa.

Hey it's me again, Keith, ghost writing for Joe. He is now on the USS Fort McHenry, somewhere in the South Pacific,
location unknown, continuing relief operations. He's visited Singapore, Bangkok, and other places he can't talk about
until he's back in Okinawa, which will be at some time in the future. If you're getting frustrated with this noninformation,
you should be. The Marine Corps is notorious for not divulging long range plans for their troopers until the very last minute.
Also, Joe was able to shake hands with two former presidents, Bill Clinton and George Bush, who visited the Fort McHenry
while touring the devastated areas in the pacific. That's all for now. The next update will have more photos I promise!

HI EVERYBODY!  No, it's not Joe updating this time, it's Keith, his big brother! I'm guest updating the site
until Joe returns to civilization. Lance Corporal Kooiman is currently serving aboard the USS Essex, a small
helicopter carrier stationed near the Indonesian coast. Joe is carrying out relief operations and has been loading
helicopters with food and supplies, and also bringing critical supplies to remote villages. He assures me he is taking
many, many pictures. I'll have some more updates shortly with pics and maps and all kinds of goodies!

Went to my new unit today, 1 Bn 12th Marines Alpha Battery. It went ok i guess. I also have a new email, its jkooiman@kodimar.com.
I would put it up on the nav bar but thats sound like alot of work and its late and i should really go to bed.

Welcome to my new home on the internet. I'm still in the process of getting all the links and the pictures working again so please
